I'm a photographer based in Scotland, in Edinburgh.

I lived in Moscow for 6 years in the crazy years when the country was transforming with wild capitalism (I speak reasonably fluent Russian and now I’m progressing well into learning Ukrainian). I spent much of my time in Ukraine where I have family ties in Kherson in particular, and bought a cottage in Kherson when Ukraine was just emerging as an independent state. Later I lived in Poland for 6 years (& I speak not very fluent Polish).

I published my monograph ‘Expectations’ with Kehrer Verlag - which is a series of four visual poems about Ukraine before the current war. ‘Expectations’ is a reference to Ukraine being a ‘land of endless expectations’, a quote from a (Ukrainian) friend.

I welcome photo assignments whether in Scotland or in Eastern Europe - or elsewhere.
