I'm a photographer based in Scotland, in Edinburgh.
Over the last three decades I spent quite a bit of time in Ukraine where I have family ties - in Kherson in particular, and bought our family cottage in Kherson in the early 1990’s when Ukraine was just emerging as an independent state. Later I lived in Poland for 6 years. I am busy improving my Ukrainian language skills, speak moderate Polish and reasonably fluent Russian.
I published my monograph ‘Expectations’ with Kehrer Verlag - which is a series of four visual poems about Ukraine before the current war. ‘Expectations’ is a reference to Ukraine being a ‘land of endless expectations’, a quote from a (Ukrainian) friend.
