Simon is a photographer-filmmaker from Edinburgh, Scotland, which is where he grew up and, having lived in various parts of the world, is now based once again with a studio in the buzzing Leith district.

He has a special interest in Ukraine where he has family ties. He bought the family cottage in Kherson in the early 1990’s when Ukraine was just emerging as an independent state, and later lived in Poland for 6 years or so.

In 2013 Kehrer Verlag published his book ‘Expectations’, which is a series of four visual poems about Ukraine in the years 2005-2013 in the years before the original invasion.

Simon studied as an undergraduate at Oxford University, and was awarded my MA in Jurisprudence.
